Honda Elevate, City, e: The company has introduced additional safety features across its entire product range in India, including City, City e:HEV (Hybrid), Elevate, and Amaze, as well as the popular models Elevate and Honda City, now as standard across all grades. Six airbags and three-point emergency locking retractor (ELR) seatbelts will be included.

Honda Elevate, City, and Launch Date in India

On September 4, 2023, Honda introduced the Elevate SUV to the Indian market. Back in 1998, the sedan marked Honda’s debut in India, swiftly garnering success and securing a place among the top-selling cars in its segment. While the Honda e is not presently offered for sale in India, Honda has disclosed intentions to introduce an all-electric SUV to the Indian market in 2024.

The Honda Elevate now has a starting price of Rs 11.91 lakh, with the top-end variant costing Rs 16.43 lakh. Meanwhile, the city ranges from Rs 12.08 lakh to Rs 16.35 lakh. The City e:HEV is priced at Rs 20.55 lakh, while the Amaze starts at Rs 7.93 lakh.

Honda Elevate City gets safety equipment as standard

The SV, V, and VX variants of the Elevate have been upgraded to include six airbags and sun visors along with vanity mirrors, and these features were previously reserved only for the top-spec models. All other variants are now equipped with rear center three-point seatbelts, head restraints, and rear seatbelt reminders. These enhancements bring the Elevate in line with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider, MG Astor, and Skoda Kushaq, all of which already offer similar features.

HCIL has also enhanced the safety features in the City, with the SV and V variants now getting six airbags, making it standard across all trims. Seatbelt reminders for all seats are now standard on both ICE and hybrid models of the City. This is in line with the segment standards set by competitors like Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and Volkswagen Virtus, which also offer similar safety features. The Maruti Ciaz further remains in a different category, offering only dual airbags and less than the segment standard of six airbags.
